The APT "Sonic FlowMaster 2-Cycle" Engines:

The clean-sheet Sonic FlowMaster 2-Cycle engine is currently under development as a fixed RPM generator power-plant. The Sonic FlowMaster 2-Cycle engine will be introduced into our product line prepared to establish itself as an engine system unrivaled in the power sports and utility industry. The engine family was initially designed for the domestic market expanding into all small engine applications – outdoor products, generators, hybrid power plants, etc. and our potential for this engine family outside North America is significantly greater. The simplicity and low production cost of these engines have extensive application in developing nations where stationary and fixed power plants are needed and where tens of millions of scooters and motorcycles are produced every year.

A Greener Engine:

A new design from bottom up, this two-cycle engine does not burn any oil while producing fewer emissions with more specific output than today's two or four cycle small engines.

Why It Works:

Two-cycle internal combustion engine are known for their lower parts count, simplicity, higher pumping efficiencies and therefore higher power to weight ratios. The Sonic FlowMaster 2-Cycle engine design incorporates innovation not limited to the induction, exhaust, cylinder head, and lubrication systems which deliver the benefits stated below.

Markets Served:

APT is currently targeting internal combustion engine applications including motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, power products applications (e.g. generator sets, pressure washers, tillers) and commercial turf applications (includes both residential and commercial lawn care products such as push and ride mowers and snow removal equipment). All of these products are currently carbureted and manufacturers need to identify a means to meet upcoming emissions regulations. By far, the largest market segment being targeted is the global motorcycle market, consisting of more than 40 million units produced annually.
